How Much Protein Do Bodybuilders Really Need?

The question of how much protein a bodybuilder should consume per day has been a much discussed and often controversial subject.  In fact, this subject can be very confusing and sometimes frustrating if you listen to all the advice given by the muscle magazines and bodybuilding gurus in the media today.

I’ve seen articles that say you should ingest 2 grams per day per pound of bodyweight.  Protein intake numbers of that magnitude are not supported by scientific data!  In fact, these numbers are quoted merely to sell more protein powder.

Vegan And Vegetarian Bodybuilding Guidelines You Need To Know

Every individual pondering about a vegan diet plan for muscle creating should do some impartial research and then make a decision for themselves.

Enough nutrition is much more essential to a bodybuilder than the amount of time you shell out on a workout or even what you do there. Essential muscle developing needs that you take in far more calories than you burn up or else you shed bodyweight. There are a few newer ones that you could try if you’re bored of Muscle and Fitness.

Fitness RX is a pretty good magazine, that has a lot of recent study findings about various topics. The only criticism I have with the magazine is there are too many drawings, and some of the material is rehashed in later issues.

Every bodybuilder knows that the “Big Three” exercises – Bench press, deadlifts, and squats – are the key to making gains in muscle mass and strength.  Let’s check out a few tips and ideas for making the most of these exercises, and doing it safely.

General Tips

Use a back belt for all three movements.  You can never be too safe when it comes to protecting this very vulnerable area of your body.  Warm up with five to ten minutes on the treadmill to prepare the body, and always use two warm up sets per body part to prepare the muscle group for the torture it is about to endure with the Big Three.
